About 3 or 4 years ago, I decided to make scones for my family (the west coast scone, or maybe it is the Utah scone, but definitely not Midwest dry, biscuit, bake in the oven scones). For some reason I doubled the recipe and it made a lot more than I had anticipated. We decided to invite our neighbors, but we still had tons so we ended up inviting about 25 people over to eat scones, it wasn't until we invited the elders to polish them off that we finally figured out how much we made. After our move and a bigger place we had more "scone nights" inviting a few people. We tried to have them monthly and they have gotten progressively bigger.

Last night I think everyone was needing to get out of their houses after a week stuck inside with freezing cold temps, so we had a record crowd, I ended up 9-timesing the recipe and had no leftovers (never do). In our count we totalled somewhere around 112-120 people most from our ward. I am so glad they come, it is so fun to have even more energy in our house and hear people laughing and having a good time. Our ward is spread out and it is nice to get together. We tried, but it didn't work, to take a picture of the cars parked up the street with huge snow drifts on both sides and slippery sidewalks. This time we had a line of people to the stove to get their scones for a good 2 hours. It was great because they had to visit the cook(me) before they could eat.

I think we had more teenagers here than we get out to church and we could have had our own primary because they were all here. Thanks for a great time and great memories everyone!! You are all invited to our next version of scone night hopefully after some of the snow has melted on the street.

I remember the scone night we spent with you, so much fun. We had quite a crowd that night. Your real brave to do it, but what a wonderful thing to do. The people in your ward will have something to remember for years. Love you
Wow Jen!!! What a huge crowd!!!
Hey I remember Scone Night! I found your blog through the Garner's - I'm excited to catch up! You guys are amazing for keeping up the scone tradition!
Hey Jenni...It's me Carrie Norris (Danelle & Diane's niece). I saw you listed as a follower on my blog so I came and checked out your blog too. What an awesome family you have! And let me know when you're doing scones again...I might just hop on a plane just to try some. With a crowd like that they must be good!
That is really cool,Jen! I remember having scones at my house growing up! Maybe I'll try that for YWs! Way to be the social outlet for the ward!
