Happy Birthdays and "say cheese"

My sweet Kati turned 17! How did that happen! Her birthday treasure hunt took her the whole day with help from almost all of her teachers giving her clues she had to unscramble and reassemble to lead her to her friends house for balloons and some fun new clothes. It was fun to involve her teachers!
Kati also got the straightener she had been wanting for awhile. Love you, Kati!

It was also Jacob's birthday! His treasure hunt was all around the house and took lots of help from everyone!
He wanted a carrot cake and so my mom helped me make a real one.
He opened his favorite strawberry milk mix, and then found out that...
it was really his most wanted (for a couple of years) I-touch.
Next in line for too many days of sugar is Halloween! We had fun this year with a warm trunk or treat and soup dinner outside! We had homemade rootbeer and scones and football in the field. We continue to be amazed at the differences in living in Arizona.
We loved having Grandma and Grandpa come and were sad to see them go. Grandpa read to Parker!
They also wanted to take pictures, so we went up to the temple and had a photo shoot. Here is the family.
The little boys!
Kati wanted an action shot.
Jacob decided he did too. Maybe he shouldn't have.
We were able to see Christina Allen a dear friend from Illinois. Oh we miss her and her family. Christina is a missionary at the Mesa Temple Visitor Center.

It's nice to have an update! Except that it makes me homesick for your cute family! I love your kids! Happy Birthday Kati and Jacob. Jen, how did you get old enough to have a 17 year old?

So much fun in AZ. I guess I will have to move there.
